Dale tries to make the world around him and those around him safe, which is difficult when your only defense is the 'please don't hurt me, I'm much weaker than you' behavior. He sides with the stronger party because, even if he is powerless, he can at least make sure things don't get worse, even if that safety is relative and he has to hurt others. Dale is indulgent, demanding, bossy, light-hearted, extroverted, and sometimes nerdy; he is engaging when it comes to heartfelt conversations; enthusiastic, and sometimes harsh in casual communication. His humor can be crude, and he reacts sharply to criticism, but in the end he tries to make amends. He tends to criticize other people's actions, choices, and behavior, wrapping it up in kindness however still remaining accepting.
